Beach Bumming 1

the gang, on the way to Nagsasa falls (c) Noriza Atienza

Finally! Swimming outside Rizal! We've been meaning to go out of town for so long already. This is our first out of town experience together, and more to come, hopefully. We went to Zambales and get ourselves tanned like crazy! It is a two-day tour to three that should be four islands in Zambales. The package we chose from Zambales Paradise Travel and Tour was the Nagsasa Tour package.

Warning: Picture heavy and long post!

Day 1 : 19 May 2012
Our pick up time was 1:00 am. Van was included in the package, service type. Usually, the pick up time is around 3-4 in the morning but we decided to have it earlier since some of us still have work/class the following day after the tour. Everything, time-wise, was adjusted accordingly.

By 1:30 am we started moving towards Zambales. It was a four-hour ride with an hour of stop over at Olongapo. We arrived at Pundaquit, Zambales before sunrise and from there, we rode a boat to get to the island.

Nagsasa Cove
The boat ride was long, and deafening. :)) But the view is superb! It's almost 7 in the morning when we arrived at Nagsasa Cove and we're hungry! Btw, meals are included in our package.

Breakfast! Rice and adobo
itlog na maalat with kamatis
ripe mango~
Breakfast was tasty! And I like it that we have mangoes.  Hoho. After the sumptuous breakfast, we headed to the beach.

I took a good-looking seaweed floating on the water. I remembered this is the common seaweed you'll find on beaches. Sargassum :)

Pork sinigang for lunch
Relyenong bangus
I really like the food! Good thing we decided to add the food on our package. Swimming was tiring enough for us to cook food after it. Mangoes were also served together with our lunch.

One of the guides told us that we can go trekking on the side of the mountain. However, we heard that there's a falls nearby and decided to take a look at it.
the guides
Here are the guides, the guy in blue and the dog. Yes! The dog is also our guide. Newmoon's the name. Cool huh. :) Sorry, my interest is only towards Newmoon that's why there's little to no emphasis on the other guide. XP

We need to cross over this swamp, or whatever it is
the same place as that of the photo on the top of this page
Newmoon :)

You can pretty much see how long and how the tracks look like as we reach the falls. It took us more than an hour to go there. It's a very rocky path, big rocks. And look at us! Haha! Slippers, shorts, so . . . geared. HAHAHAHA!

there's water already!
we're almost there
TADA! The FALLS! Yeah! The long and exhausting journey brought us here. Yes I know. Stop~! :)) Summer, maybe that's why it is at its minimum. LOL. Our energy was so low already to do some rantings about this. Haha! But it's so fun! Good thing I jogged regularly before this tour, so I'm kinda prepared physically for the trek. :)

just so that we can say that we were here, we pile these stones up

Some of my friends went and reached that side to make the most out of it.  My other friends and I decided not to, one   we're tired, two   it's deep, lastly   it's DIRTY! :)) Too bad we already dipped ourselves before we became aware of it. LOL.

because we still have the energy to do this as we go back (c) Marifel Vergara

The sun's setting when we reached the cottage. We went for another dip in the beach before resting. It also started raining so we were not able to make a bonfire. We can't see much because of the darkness. There's no signal and electricity there, btw. Camping mode, really. They provided two tents for us that can house 5 people each. Half of us decided to sleep outside   including me. I just don't like sleeping in a cramped space. So yeah. It was a chilly evening and the sound of the waves plus our beat body put us to sleep.

Long post, right? :)) Told ya~ I won't make it longer than this, so Day 2 will be on a separate post. :)
