Beach Bumming 2

an early morning postcard-ish shot :))

Continuation of my previous post.

Warning: Picture heavy and long post!

Day 2 : 20 May 2012
Island Hopping

I was the first one to get up. It was so cold and the waves were loud and crazy! Good thing the store there sells hot water, expensive hot water. :))

After getting ready and saying goodbye and thank you to the guides/helper, we're ready to go island hopping. Yeah~ Another butt-numbing boat ride.

Island 1 : Capones Island
It's soooooooo pretty! Just as we are about dock, we saw how clear the water is. As in! OSM! You can see big rocks underneath, some white, others black, mostly mossy. Haha! So cool! You won't see it below, but when you go there, you'll know what I'm talking about. :)

The waves are so big during that time and we're not able to go snorkeling. Free snorkeling was included in the package, and usually it's done in Capones. But of course, we won't risk our lives because the waves are deadly. It's kinda deep here. We're only a few meters from the shore and the water reached my neck already. I'm 5 feet some inches tall, btw.

The guides said that we should go already to the next island because the waves are getting bigger.  We can do the snorkeling there. I don't know how long we stayed in Capones, but it's so short. Less than an hour, I guess? We're not able to roam around the island, we were just on one area and that's it. Pictures were hastily taken then. And we still have the guts to take pictures even if we're being rushed! LOL.

Island 2 : Camara Island

I really like this Island! The meeting of the two waves created a shore. You can really go to the other isles like that one on the picture. It's shallow here. If you move on either side, you'll feel the rocks flooring it. The rocks are big, very big, and mossy! Rocks or corals? Dunno! :)) There are craters eh, as if something's been there. I think the rocks/corals, whatever, extend to as much as half kilometer? Even more? Joke! HAHA! I don't know. But it's really shallow. We saw someone who is really really far from the shore, and we can still see his upper body. I thinks he's less than 6 feet. So yeah.

There are times when the waves are just too strong, especially if you're in between the two waves. But it's so fun! The sand here is coarser, maybe the coarsest. I got some abrasions here too. But I got my biggest scar from Nagsasa. :))

Snorkeling was great! Though there's not much to see, just the rocks, seaweeds, seaweeds, and more seaweeds. :))) I also saw small fishes of different colors. Yey! Oh, and the water is not so salty here, a little bit lesser than Capones. The water in Nagsasa is the saltiest, to the point that your eyes will get red. And if, in case, you accidentally drank some water   which I did, your throat will suffer. It's so salty!

It was already half past 12 when we started heading to Pundaquit, where we can have a shower. There are no CR/restrooms in Capones and Camara   the same reason why tourists can't pitch there.

We were not able to visit Anawangin. :( It was arranged that we will visit 4 islands. I was thinking that we will visit it on Day 1, then by lunch time or after lunch we will go to Nagsasa. Day 2 will be the same   island hopping, just the remaining two islands because of the time constraint. But kuya Allan said that what they usually do is they bring the tourists to their camping site as soon as they arrive. He said that visiting Anawangin is a bonus trip only. He insisted that we can still go there if we want to, but we opted not to since we need to go home already. Anyway, it's still good and we enjoyed the tour so much! :)

some random place on the way home
The driver forgot that we wanted to go to the market to buy mangoes. :( We were so tired already and most of us were sleeping so we didn't notice. I only remembered it when we passed by a stall of mangoes. Next time.

We didn't have lunch, so we had a stopover and ate lunch at Shakey's. Haha! Look at those faces. :))

Wee~ Summer beach bumming, ACHIB!
